John Amado S. Becerra, born Sept. 13, 1948, departed the yellow brick road of life on Dec. 29, 2017 with his beloved soulmate and partner for over 40 years, Miriam, nee Foxman at his side; father of the late John Becerra Drage; loving brother-in-law of Leonard (Shelly) Foxman and the late Anita (Mel) Brenner; cherished uncle of Ted (Laura) Foxman and Robin Foxman (Gabe) Cleek; special great uncle of Mia, Olivia, Mason and Henry Foxman and Ben, Asher “A.C.” and Leah Cleek; treasured son of the late Ramon and Rita Munoz; adored grandson of the late Julian and Lydia Becerra; dear godfather of Sarah Lundgren. John leaves a special shout-out to many cousins and relatives, especially Anne (Paul Odell) Crane, David (Sally) Goldberg and Michele (Bob) Kade; special friend of the “Skokie Bums”, the Carl and Wendy Green family and all of his dear friends who were more like family to him. John valiantly challenged his illness to the end with courage and dignity. A celebration of John’s life will be held Friday 2:30 PM on Jan. 5th, 2018 at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Randhill Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
